Challenging Times

Well, Phillip has officially entered trying times as a 3 year old.  It's amazing just how challenging a little boy can make even the smallest tasks hard such as eating his meals, picking up toys, and just plain listening to anything that comes out of my mouth.

Today as I was driving home, he decided he was going to fling his "Thor" action figure my way.  It took everything inside of me to not slam on brakes and just scream out at him but of course that wouldn't have helped anything; it probably would have made the situation worse.  I kept calm and slowly turned my head to look at a pitiful face glaring back at me.  He knew exactly what he had done and quickly said, "I'm sorry!"  I proceeded to tell him that from now on he is not allowed to have toys in the cars if we was going to throw them at people.  Whenever I go to correct Phillip, I always make him repeat what I say so that at least I know he is listening to me (at that moment).

If only I could make him remember it (I know that comes with constant consistency).  It's amazing how we as parents try to teach our children so much and in return they teach us lessons too!

Here is a picture of our peaceful little guy all wore out from a day of fun-filled playing!
