It was such a fun weekend! Alex and I celebrated my birthday early on Saturday with a dinner and movie! We went to see "Fast Five" (which was awesome) and ate a yummy dinner at Flat Rock. It was wonderful being to go out on a date with my hubby and spend some one on one time with each other.
Sunday after church, we met the Hand family in downtown Greenville. The kids got some ice cream and we all headed to the park so the kids could play. They decided to race each other and Logan did a little pouting because he could win the race (it was actually really cute and I had to get a picture of it). The temperature was so hot but those kids could have cared less (us parents on the other hand would have loved some AC).
Today I took the kids to my mom's house and relaxed a little while Alex headed back downtown for the US Cycling Championship Race. He bought a pair of funky shoes (which Phillip called monkey shoes) and then watched the race. Greenville's own, George Hincapie came in 2nd place! It was great being able to spend some time with mom despite the fact that Phillip got bit in the face by her dog. It's such a challenge to teach him that most dogs are not like our Bailey and he can't expect them to just roll over while he's pulling their ears. Needless to say, Phillip is more cautious now!
Today was my actual birthday! I am so blessed that God has given me 33 years to live. Everyday is such a blessing to wake up and start my day fresh and new.
