This is my "Harmony" (grandmother in Korean). She was a beautiful lady with a big heart.
Both she and my grandfather came to live with us when I was just a teenager (their first time in America) and to be honest with you, it was difficult to communicate with her because of the language barrier and difference in customs but we made it through and I really enjoyed them being here. They then moved up to New York City where more of the family lived (it was a little easier for them because of all the Koreans that lived there too).
My last memory of my Harmony was our trip to NYC before Phillip was born. Since my mom couldn't go, I asked her to write in Korean that I was pregnant. Once we arrived to NYC, we all went out to eat and I handed her the note. She was thrilled--her first great grandbaby! It was a great moment!
She will be missed by all of us! Love you Harmony!
